Errand Oracle

Allow me to introduce myself, starting with the reason for the title of this first post. I do not think of myself as a kind of divine sage with the power to foresee future outcomes and stir you in the right direction; hence the errand part. I do, however, trust in my very human, often erroneous, capacity to delve and fantasize, imagine and create what is and will be.

It is my belief that 'errors' are often kind harbingers of change to come and wonderful opportunities for introspection, insight and even a good belly laugh now and then; with that in mind let's get right into this week's musings.

It is September first, Fall just a short weeks away (sigh)...
Close your eyes. Imagine going softly down a slide full of bright colored, still saple, red and yellow, coral and amber leaves. Lift your arms high up above your head and take a deep breath....smell the damp earth, crisp air? Let your mouth remember the sharp, sweet and crunchy feel of a just bitten apple.
Feel better?
I should hope yes.
Now for the next few months repeat at will this exercise whenever your alarm clocks startle you out of your dreams and warm comforter and into a cubicle like train, desk, car or whatever may restrict your wide and wild self and makes you deeply unhappy.
You may also choose to practice this short visualisation when flash memories of this past summer pop into your consciousness and make you feel as though you can't possibly live through another winter looming large and dark and cold in the near future.

Autumn is a gift, to gently and soothingly nudge us to transition to a "hibernation" of sorts. How wise of nature to conjure up such a lovely vehicle for all beings to come to terms with the inevitable..

I leave you with this last thought:
Remember when you used to bring an apple to your teacher?
Why not continue or relaunch the tradition by bringing an apple for yourself, a coworker, a friend or neighbor, as a talisman of good health, juicy interactions, gratitude and why not, an invitation to some sweet sin or two?

Till next time,
Happy September!
