Treasures

Our "resident" homeless man on the street where I work, has this most endearing habit: leaving smalls offerings at the doorsteps of each of his neighbors haphazardly.
This morning there was a whole roast chicken in it's container from the supermarket with the skin and part of the breast eaten away. Our next door neighbor got a snifter glass with two perfectly pink rose buds.
A few weeks ago, we got two sets of Conair Velcro rollers (it is a Hair Salon) and our neighbor got a plastic hot pink wine glass filled with brilliant yellow daisies.

There seems to be a filling of appropriateness in his choices, however out of sorts or whimsical they may appear, and most passerby don't seem to mind or even notice. This is New York after all, and we all tend to get a bit blind to what or who we pass by on our way to the important things we get to do.

I am always on the lookout for the next thing he chooses to leave, in fact I look forward to his surprising "gifts".

Thank you stranger for your odd and heartwarming gestures of sharing!
